David Marshall

David was born in the south side of Glasgow and has lived there all his life.

David was educated at Williamwood and Eastwood High Schools in Glasgow, he attended Glasgow School of Art and graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1979, with a 2/1 BA Honours degree in Fine Art in drawing and painting, and then gained a teaching diploma in 1980.

In 2013 he retired having worked in the art department of Mearns Castle High School from 1980.

David also tutored at Ardentinny summer art school for six years for a week in the month of June where he taught drawing and painting outdoors.

He has exhibited in the SSA, RSA and RSW exhibitions in Edinburgh, Laings Landscape exhibitions in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Tolquhon Gallery, Aberdeenshire, Art Exposure Gallery in Glasgow, The Glasgow Gallery and the Mansefield Park Gallery.

Working mostly in acrylics, water colours and mixed media, David’s paintings are mostly townscapes and landscapes of the Lucca region in Tuscany where he regularly goes to sketch and paint. He also paints scenes from all over Italy and French and Scottish scenes.
