Sheila Fowler is known for her bold use of colour, rich textures, and contemporary style. With a lifelong passion for drawing and painting, she studied part-time at Glasgow School of Art from 2003 to 2006 and has been painting full-time since 2007 from her Giffnock based studio.
Her work is inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of Scotland’s West Coast, particularly the Hebridean Islands, as well as the delicate beauty of wildflowers and still-life arrangements. Passionate about her subject matter, she frequently travels to the West Coast islands to capture the essence of the Scottish landscape firsthand. Combining realism with expressive, abstract brushstrokes, Sheila creates vibrant, light-filled landscapes and carefully composed still-life pieces.
Sheila’s work has gained widespread recognition, with paintings featured in the BBC One Show Summer Exhibition in 2009 and displayed in the Scottish Parliament Building.
