Lynn Howarth is an award-winning Scottish artist primarily working in pastel and charcoal across a range of subject matter- figurative, portraiture and landscape. Graduating from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, Lynn worked as a graphic designer before setting up her own design business in 1999.
In 2012 she felt herself drawn back to her first love, drawing and painting, where she loves the immediacy and tactility of her chosen mediums. Working from her Glasgow based studio, she also provides pastel workshops as well as teaching part time at Strathclyde University and for art groups all over Scotland and beyond.
Lynn is a past winner of the Derwent/WH Smith sketch off prize and several awards from the Pastel Guild of Europe. Her work has been published in art books for portraiture, pastels and women in art.
