A GLASGOW COLLECTIVE
14th Sep 2024
Explore the work of Alan Wilson, Connie Liebschner, David Marshall, Jane Roy, Lynn Howarth, Nichol Wheatley and Scott Macdonald in our current exhibition A GLASGOW COLLECTIVE.
A GLASGOW COLLECTIVE brings together the work of seven gallery favourites into a wonderful explosion of style and subject matter - all linked by Glasgow. This exhibition celebrates Glasgow based and born artists. With some features of Glasgow and familiar settings, you may find some recognisable, close to home spots!
Showcasing a beautiful selection of pieces depicting the character-filled streets of Glasgow; Scott Macdonald and Alan Wilson capture evening scenes from well known streets whilst David Marshall’s paintings illustrate beloved West End drinking hang-outs.
Alongside the hustle and bustle of the city, Lynn Howarth and Connie Liebschner’s work transports us to vast, tranquil swimming spots. Creating a balance to the hubbub of the built up city are Nichol Wheatley’s calming landscapes with cloud-punched skies. Vivid colours can be found in Jane Roy’s painterly studies inspired by Glasgow’s Botanical Gardens.
We have really enjoyed hearing our visitors interpretations and personal meanings of these artworks. There is nothing better than seeing people connect to the art!
The final day and chance to see the exhibition will be Saturday 05th October.
