As Beauty of Water comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on this powerful and moving group exhibition that brought together eight artists, each offering their unique response to the ever-shifting presence of water.

Inspired by Senja Brendon’s long-standing connection to the sea, the exhibition explored water in all its moods, from the stillness of tidal pools to the drama of stormy seas. Senja’s own work, rooted in her emotional and physical ties to the coast, set the tone for the show, inviting both artists and viewers to connect with water as something more than just a subject but as an experience.
Alongside Senja, we were delighted to present work by Lynn Howarth, Janet McCrorie, Philip Raskin, Helen L. Robertson, Sandra Moffat, and Scott Macdonald, each bringing their interpretation of water’s beauty, power, and mystery. We were also excited to welcome Kerry Souter to the gallery for the first time, whose atmospheric landscapes added a fresh perspective to the theme.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors were invited to immerse themselves in the ebb and flow of the works on display. The artwork spoke of memory, movement, and the deep emotional resonance that water holds for so many of us. Whether through expressive abstracts, vivid seascapes, or quiet reflections on nature, Beauty of Water offered moments of calm, energy, and connection.

Thank you to all the artists involved and to everyone who visited the exhibition in person or online. It has been a joy to share this collection with you, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the gallery for the next chapter!
