Now that the New Year has begun, we are thrilled to re-open the gallery and continue our exhibition Small but Mighty!

This unique show celebrates the power of art in miniature, proving that great art doesn’t have to be large to leave a lasting impression. Each piece is small in scale but brimming with talent, creativity, and energy, offering something for every art lover.

For this exhibition, our artists have embraced the challenge of working on a smaller scale, transforming familiar subjects and styles into miniature treasures. Charmaine Boyle’s Buy Yourself Flowers series delights with its delicate detail and charm, while Victoria Wylie’s seascapes and skies take on a new intimacy in a tiny format. Greer Ralston has gone extra mini with her bird paintings, capturing vibrant life in just a few inches. We are also delighted to include Connie Liebschner’s miniature landscapes on box canvases, where she extends her scenes over the edges to create a subtle three-dimensional effect. Mary McDonald contributes a mix of pillowy landscapes and floral still lifes, including the smallest piece in the exhibition, Pomegranate.

This is the first time we have brought together so many of our much-loved artists and gallery favourites in one exhibition, making Small but Mighty a truly special event. Alongside the artists already mentioned, the show features Jane Hunter’s abstract pigmented pieces, Scott Macdonald’s oil landscapes, Margaret Evans’ soft pastel landscapes, Moy Mackay's felt and stitch masterpieces, colourful landscapes from Rosanne Barr, collages from Annie Broadley, mixed media from David Marshall, seascapes from Senja Brendon, and many more. Each work, no matter its size, draws the viewer in with layers of detail, texture, and colour.

Small but Mighty is a celebration of art in all its forms and proves that size is no measure of impact. The best part is that you don’t have to wait until the exhibition ends to take home a piece you love - these miniature masterpieces are ready to bring joy to your home right now. Whether you’re drawn to landscapes, abstracts, florals, or seascapes, there is something here for everyone to admire and cherish.

Small but Mighty will run until Saturday 14th February
